MINUTES FROM MONTHLY MEETING
MAY 3, 2010

The regular monthly meeting for the Town of New Denmark was called to order on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Krueger. After the Pledge of Allegiance the Minutes from April’s regular monthly meeting were read. A motion is made by Sup. Rabas and seconded by Sup. Goetsch to approve with spelling revision. MC

MINUTES FROM SPECIAL MEETINGS: None

TREASURER’S REPORT: The Treasurer’s books show a balance on hand as of April 30, 2010 of $622,113.10 in the money market and $39,720.49 in checking. Motion made by Sup. Goetsch and seconded by Sup. Rabas to accept report. MC

COMMENTS and CONCERNS FOR THE PUBLIC: Eric Nellis of 5652 Petersen Lane states there is a large wash-out by North Avenue and Hwy T.

OLD BUSINESS: Well Water Testing: Town Board opts to forgo a Town wide program due to lack of resident interest. Eric Nellis states a facility in Howard conducts well water sampling and the service maybe more inclusive and around $20.00

APPROVE INFORMATIONAL BUILDING & CULVERT PERMITS: Informational Permit from Eric Nellis of 5652 Petersen Lane to move and construct an enclosed entrance to east to improve safety of the property. Sup. Rabas would like to view proposal to see if there is a change in setbacks. Motion by Sup. Goetsch and seconded by Sup. Rabas to review and inspect before approving. MC. Second permit to remove old barn and reconstruct 12 x 20 barn with a setback of 150-175 feet from corner lot line. Motion by Sup. Rabas and seconded by Sup. Goetsch to accept. MC Tony Loritz submits culvert application for installation on Behnke Road. Sup. Rabas questions location to intersection and frontage. Motion by Sup. Rabas to accept upon inspection. Seconded by Sup. Goetsch. MC Gerald/Carol Petersen of 6316 Cty Hwy KB for home improvement of siding, soffits, and porch. Motion by Sup. Rabas and seconded by Sup. Goetsch to approve w/ setbacks of porch to be reviewed by Norb Buresh. MC.

ASSESSOR’S REPORT: None.

ROAD & BRIDGE REPORT: Langes Corner Bridge is blocked by 3 trees/stumps and may need backhoe to remove debris. Culvert repair/expense on Kvitek Road should be split with Village of Denmark. Sup. Rabas reports 18 tires were picked up from the right-of-ways. Town of Cooperstown has finished patching pot holes. Sup. Goetsch recommends the Bd set a date to tour Town roads to determine needed repair. Question whether Irish Road should be put on hold or be ground and chipped sealed or wedged. Bd establishes May 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. to conduct road inspection. Sup. Rabas states he will request the bridges be swept and Maribel/North intersection to remove excess sand. Proposed grass cutting advertisement reviewed. Same criteria to be used from last year.

CORRESPONDENCE: Notice of Claim served upon Town re: legal action with Wade Berger. Notice that breakfast on the farm will be held at the Brickstead farm in Greenleaf. Invite to Board for press conference re: Brown County Fair. CenturyLink application for construction. Motion by Sup. Goetsch and seconded by Sup. Rabas to approve. MC

PAYMENT OF BILLS: Motion by Sup. Goetsch and seconded by Sup. Rabas to pay bills. MC Motion by Sup. Goetsch and seconded by Sup. Rabas to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. MC
